PSU conducted a proactive risk assessment for 79 clubs, which found 20 clubs had some element of risk, including the Archery Club, Boxing Club, and Rifle Club, but only three were determined to be high-risk activities: PSOC, Grotto Caving Club, and the Nittany Divers SCUBA Club.
I attended PSU and am proud to say that I was a member or attendee at functions of all three of those organizations. I learned to dive with the Nittany Divers and the Grotto Club were some seriously dedicated troglodytes, and had the inside scoop on all kinds of very secret, private holes in the ground. Neither group messed around in the slightest. But the PSOC was mostly about camping, drinking, smoking, day hikes and hookups in the woods. But what's wrong with that?
