I thought this was excellent, and It mirrors my views pretty closely. There is no compromise possible between the opposing world views which currently stalemate American government, and indeed much of American life, but only one those systems will assure a continuation of democracy:

Well, sure; I understand that not everyone is going to see it the same way that I do.

TLDR? Let me summarize; if Donald Trump ISN'T the sign that the pendulum has swung so far to the right that it's hit the limit and is about to reverse, then he's one of the Four Horsemen and these are the end times. Either way, it's a good time to atone for one's sins.

Wait, everyone knows you can't bulldoze camps until after Memorial day, it's too cold still before that point.  Jeez folks, simple manners will take you far.

Sorry, to be a sinner, there has to be a sin-ee and I don't believe in one.  Donald Trump is an enema for America.  Look at all the bad shit that has come out that we thought was no longer in there!  The MAGA people thought they were being empowered by the President of the Rich White People but they were really just being outed.  They won't believe it, but a lot of middle America is waking up and realizing what a truly fucked up nightmare that Old White Men have made our country into.  And part of the reason they have been allowed to do so is that left-wing liberalism is just as bad as right-wing conservatism.  That pendulum of yours needs to bounce off the wall and head in a completely different direction from its normal track.

Smudgie,

Try dropping that tiresome "Red Team vs Blue Team" MSM-concocted-agitprop-bullshit.  Believe me, "your" side is every bit as fucked up as "their" side.

Commiefornia:  Worlds 7th largest economy. Run by a hypocrite plutocracy.   Record number on food stamps/public assistance, million+ driver licenses to illegals, taxes out the yin-yang, homeless out the yang-ting.  "Civil war" is a fabrication by cultural marxists.  The only comparison between CA and an Antebellum South would be droves Mexican (read: brown) slave-laborers Cali agri biz "imports" to remain solvent.  Wealth disparity...shitloads of pollution and homeless..no matter how much you imagine otherwise.

I could get behind Progressives (misnomer4sure) on the environment...and PEACE.  But, wait! When was the last time a  groundswell of anti-war protestations from the so-called "left" manifested itself?  1968?    Here's an  "inconvenient" truth:  Nobel Laureate Barry Soweto bombed SEVEN countries on his watch...not a goddamn peep from "your" side...not to mention letting the POS banksters walk w/their bonuses intact.   At least I'll get a reach around with agent orange...in the form of a tax cut.

Translation:  No credibility.
FUCK THE PROGS!

Smudge it's important that understand that our harpooning of that whale Trump has nothing to do with our actual political leanings.  We just do it because you are allowed to ridicule retards when they are dumb enough to take political office.

For example I'm a conservative socialist, chew on that one for a while.

No sweat, and no problem Emmeran. I didn't expect to find much agreement with my views, so none of the comments have either surprised or upset me. I'm not responding back because...well...all you guys are entitled to your viewpoints too, and argument wouldn't change anything anyway.

I still like the article. I still think he's right. The part I'm unsure about is the timing. We're overdue for a correction, and it's either coming soon, or it won't happen because the far right will have managed to bypass the Constitution and achieved the final goal; remaining in power in spite of the electorate. We'll either see a big correction soon, or the fascists will have won.

If only the Kalifornia Socialists could figure out how to build their workers paradise without Other People's Money, they might be on to something. But politics is always about getting someone else to pay for what you want, plus enough skim to keep the politicos from changing their minds and taking it all away again later. And that applies equally to both sides of the aisle. The only question is who you are sticking with the bill. If both sides would agree that they want the same things, and are willing to pay for it themselves, then there wouldn't be anything to fight about any more. Fat luck though. Its way easier for the foxes to decide if they want sheep or chicken for dinner.

California is steaming along toward it's own uncivil war anyway. Water rights, immigration, taxing the 1%, gun control, you decide what will light the fuse, but they are probably closer to internal fracture than any other state. They are just smug on the political front because they have an unassailable majority. The tyranny of the masses looks good if you are one of the masses.
